Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors who legally reside in the United States and whose family income is at or below the 2025 Federal Poverty Guideline.
Do I have to belong to an underrepresented group to apply?
No. While we strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds — including Hispanic, Black, Asian minority, and Middle Eastern students — every submission meeting the eligibility requirements will be considered, regardless of background.
Is there an application fee?
No — applying for the Next Light Scholarship is completely free.
How will I know if my application was received?
Once you submit your Google Form application, you’ll see a confirmation message on-screen and receive a thank you email.
Can I edit my application after submitting it?
No, once submitted, the form can’t be edited. We recommend reviewing all your responses and attachments carefully before clicking “Submit.”
When will finalists be notified?
Notification timelines will be shared on the application form and through email updates. Finalists will be contacted directly via email, so make sure you provide an address you check regularly. The average review time is 8 weeks after the deadline for each application period.
What happens if I’m selected as a scholarship recipient?
If selected, you’ll receive an official email with next steps. You’ll be asked to provide income verification documents before funds are awarded.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. All application information and supporting documents are kept strictly confidential and used only for scholarship review purposes.
Will Late application be accepted?
unfortunately, due to the amount of application we receive, the application form closes on 11:59 P.M. of the due date and no late submission will be considered.
